JUNG has successfully passed the SEDEX Members Ethical Trade Audit and received the SMETA certification. The Ethical Trading Initiative (ETI) certifies that JUNG acts in an ethical way. JUNG takes a pioneering role in the packaging industry and is the only manufacturer of high-quality gift wrapping papers and tissue papers with this demanding certification.
„Our family-owned company sets itself high standards not only in terms of product quality and innovative strength, but also in dealing with customers, business partners and employees. The SMETA certification is a confirmation of our philosophy in our daily dealings with people. We attach great importance to integrity, honesty, ethically impeccable and fair conduct as well as compliance with applicable laws,“ explains Claus Jung, who as shareholder and managing director runs the company together with his siblings Ellen, Uli and Stephan Jung. „With the JUNG - Ethics Policy, we explicitly acknowledge our responsibility towards our business and social environment.“
SMETA is a globally recognized audit developed by the British non-profit organization Sedex Associate Auditor Group. It helps organizations minimize risks by promoting transparency throughout the supply chain. Well-known companies in the luxury goods industry, which are part of JUNG's customer base, rely on this audit in cooperation with their business partners. An impartial auditor from SGS intensively inspected JUNG's production during walk-throughs in all areas and also verified compliance with guidelines under the law and the ETI Basic Code through individual and group employee interviews. The comprehensive audit assesses company production sites and value chains according to national laws and the ethical ETI code, and confirms that JUNG is acting according to the right processes and adhering to best practice guidelines for ethical trade in line with the needs of its customers.
In the Ethical Trading Initiative (ETI), companies have joined forces with their customers, trade unions, international human rights and development organizations to promote working conditions, employee and human rights. Certification is carried out in accordance with the initiative's clearly defined ethical guidelines. The focus is on topics such as labor guidelines, health and safety. A further audit pillar covers the topics of the environment and business practices.
